A collection of stories about the outsiders – the criminals, the soldiers, the addicts, the mathematicians, the gamblers and the cage fighters, the refugees and the rebels.

From the battlefield, to alternate realities, to the mean streets of the dark city, we walk in the shoes of those who struggle to survive in a neon-saturated, tech-noir future. Twelve hard-edged stories from the dark, often violent, sometimes strange heart of cyberpunk, this collection – as with all the best science fiction – is an exploration of who were are now.

In the tradition of Dashiell Hammett, Philip K Dick, and David Mitchell, Neon Leviathan is a remarkable debut collection from a breakout new author.

“Haunting and iridescent—combines the paranoid weirdness of the best Philip K Dick, the chilly but cool-as-fuck future gleam of cyberpunk, and an achingly beautiful literary inflection reminiscent of mainstream heavyweights like Murakami or Ishiguro. T. R. Napper’s futures feel at once gritty and vertiginous and close-focus human in the way only the best SF can manage. Whatever roadmap he’s working from, I can’t wait to see where he’s taking us next.”
Richard Morgan, author of Altered Carbon

“It is easier to write about violence than to write about the aftermath—the grief, the guilt, the long-held trauma. It’s easier to write about the shouted argument than the taut silence which follows it. It’s easier to write about dreamlike unreality than it is to invest a reader in the mundane and the everyday. And yet the stories within Neon Leviathan balance all these competing demands with a deft and masterful hand.”
Adrian Tchaikovsky, author of Children of Time

A Feast of Ambrosia: The Adventures of Bingor and Donalbain

Eight short stories featuring the two same character by Glenn Rahman

Bingor, a sly scoundrel hailing from Sicilia, and Donalbain, a Scottish bard, are not your typical sword-and-sorcery heroes. Thieving is their main trade, but they have no scruples against burglary, bounty-hunting, treasure-seeking, swindling, and selling information.

Despite their rascally nature, they prefer to make criminals the primary targets of their larceny, and avoid violence whenever possible—which isn’t often! In these adventures, our carefree rogues encounter deadly threats of both earthly origin and supernatural—including vampires, lycanthropes, and other creatures of the night!

Mann’s Marauders : A Planet Too Far

In the last days of Earth, Mega-Corporations controlled the bulk of the planet, becoming governments unto themselves. After they depleted Earth’s resources and destroyed the environment, the survivors had to abandon Earth. Then it was time to search out new planets to exploit. With little to no regard for the inhabitants, no one could stop the corporations from taking what they wanted.
Formed by survivors, cast-offs, and refugees of these planets to push back against corporate exploitation, Mann’s Marauders was united under one banner by Dietrich Mann. This mercenary team began by fighting on land with troops and Grav-tanks, then grew to include starships and heavy fighters.
When corporations threaten your planet, you need Mann’s Marauders.

When the US Air Force loses contact with an experimental drone carrying a classified weapon system over a remote section of the Ouachita Mountain Range of eastern Oklahoma, a team of elite Pararescue personnel are sent in to recover the asset. After the entire team and the helicopter sent to extract them vanish without a trace, it is discovered that a highly-aggressive, hairy, bipedal hominid is responsible for the attack. Code Name: Wild Hunt is called in to handle the paranormal threat. The Wild Hunt is a covert group of Special Forces operatives that are recruited from all branches of the US military for highly specialized and classified missions pertaining to paranormal threats to humanity.

With the increasing frequency of attacks, the Wild Hunt is split across four zones of the United States, with four teams operating in each zone. Teams are named after Hunting Deities with each zone representing a different pantheon. Due to the volatile nature of the missions and potential for panic in the general populace, the Special Operations Group known as the Wild Hunt does not formally exist in any government or military records. Dispatching Team Odin, they soon discover that it wasn’t just one creature.

They find themselves caught in the middle of a conflict between two clans of Bigfoot-like creatures embroiled in a territorial dispute. Creatures that they quickly learn are far more intelligent than originally anticipated. To make matters worse, they find themselves trapped by one of the worst snowstorms on record. Can Team Odin locate any survivors of the original Pararescue team, as well as secure the missing drone? Or will they, too, fall prey to the same creatures?
