For those wanting to discover this old school Dungeons & Dragons universe
It started by a trilogy called Dragonlance Chronicles by Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weis later joined by other authors, it’s quite big but most series and even individual novels can be read independently.
You can find them all sorted by order of publication here
During the prador-human war the Dark Intelligence, the AI Penny Royal, fractured and went rogue. The manipulations of this insane and incredibly dangerous intelligence were grotesque. It granted wishes that were deals with the devil, and transformed its victims into chimeras of the technological and the organic. Hunted throughout the war and beyond, it finally found redemption and apotheosis, as it moved itself beyond time.
Though Jenny is terrified of the trapdoor spider that has taken up residence in her ship, the arrival of the war in her home system soon dismisses it from her mind. But the spider returns in a way she could never have conceived. . .

“A modern iteration of old school storytelling. Highly recommended to anyone in search of a fun run through strange lands and times.” —Glen Cook, author of The Black Company series
“Jones writes well, his strong prose giving a good sense of setting and able to stir emotions without ever getting itself noticed…. but the real strength of the book is simply that it is fun to read.”—Mark Lawrence, author ofThe broken empire and the Book of the Ancestor series
This wonderful work put me in mind of the stories I read when I was editing the Baen’s Robert E. Howard library.”—David Drake, bestselling author of the Hammer’s Slammers series, Redliners, Vettius and His Friends and the RCN series.
“Howard Andrew Jones is the leading Sword & Sorcery author of the 21st Century… His Lord of The Shattered Land is his best work yet, a heroic fantasy retelling of one of the great tales of antiquity, the fall of Carthage and its legendary general Hannibal…It’s a magnificent achievement, destined to become a modern classic.”—John O’Neill, World Fantasy Award Winning Publisher of Black Gate magazine
I’m trying to build a site focused on pulp fiction old and new, ranging from sword and sorcery fantasy to old school noir detective and adventure sf as well as military and historical fictions and contemporary thriller, and to make this massive library sortable by various tags and tropes helping find new books to read across different genres (please be patient it’s big and takes a few seconds to load)
There is still a lot to do and i have not yet finished uploading all the database and need to go on the hunt to find more interesting stuff to add.
Still I think that with more than 900 novels with a lot of that being the first in a serie (as i only put the first here to avoid cluttering the search results uselessly) there is enough to help you find your next read.
In the next few weeks I’ll particularly look into growing the less populated trope tags since I think It’s the main appeal of dudesbooks as it allows to find interesting things across categories that people wouldn’t have necessarily found otherwise.
Anyway don’t hesitate to drop by on the forum to discuss your favorite books/series/literary genres or propose new additions to the library.
Now that there is a solid base I’m also going to start adding news releases and debuting authors. Follow on twitter to get the news.

Every short story in this wonderfully varied collection has one thing in common: each features some alteration in history, some divergence from historical reality, which results in a world very different from the one we know today. As well as original stories specially commissioned from bestselling writers such as James Morrow, Stephen Baxter and Ken MacLeod, there are genre classics such as Kim Stanley Robinson's story of how World War II atomic bomber the Enola Gay,…
